Cemetery Rules & Regulations
- Do not drive or park on the grass.
- Speed limit is 10 miles per hour at all times.
- Any pets must be on leash and cleaned up after.
- Please use trash containers to discard rubbish.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- No decorative fences of any type are allowed on graves.
- Neither stones nor wood chips are permitted to be placed.
- Sod may only be placed by cemetery personnel.
- All flowerpots and plantings shall be placed within 8 inches of monument.
No pots, glass jars or other containers should be dug into the ground. - Unsightly or weed infested flower beds will be removed when monuments are trimmed.
- No trees, shrubbery or bushes are to be planted.
- Funeral flowers are removed within a period of 3 to 5 days following internment.
- Christmas decorations are removed from graves beginning February 1st.
Anyone wishing to save decorations must pick them up by January 25th.
No spring flowers or Easter decorations should be placed until March 1st. - Artificial flowers are removed when out of season or unsightly.
- We are not responsible for vigil lights and decorations placed on graves.
- Decorations that impede ground maintenance will be removed if necessary and claimable at the grounds office building.
Mausoleum Rules
To preserve the beauty and reverence of the mausoleum and to make visits as comfortable as possible for all, kindly observe the following guidelines:
- Only fresh cut flowers are permitted, no potted or plastic flowers are permitted.
- All flowers will be removed when unsightly.
- Do NOT attach anything to crypt fronts, walls, or windows in the mausoleum.
- Food, beverages, and smoking are NOT permitted in the building.
- Pets are NOT permitted in the building.
- The Odd Fellows Cemetery is not responsible for any items, flowers, or decorations left in the mausoleum.
Monument Rules & Regulations
- A memorial shall be defined as any monument, flush marker, headstone, footstone, or any other object used to memorialize the dead.
- The cemetery has the exclusive right to construct foundations, control the surface of the land and all structures thereon.
- In no event shall the cemetery be held liable for the location of a memorial, any damage it may receive or the location of names on the memorial in relationship to placement in graves.
- The memorial is the personal property of the lot owners or their representative and insurance should be purchased for its protection.
- All memorials require a foundation and will not be installed without the proper signature on the application form and all fees paid.
- Applications must be signed by the memorial provider and the lot owner or persons having the legal authority to place said memorial on grave.
- All memorials require location markings on the lower right corner. Markings must be in ½ inch script and identify the section, lot and grave numbers.
- All applications for memorials must have a sketch of the monument showing the exact dimensions, location in the cemetery and lettering.
- All memorial providers and setting contractors must keep their vehicles off the lawns and are responsible for any damage that might occur.
- No person or persons are permitted to remove a memorial from the cemetery without notifying the proper cemetery personnel.
- Solar powered fixtures or additions to existing memorials are strictly forbidden.
- Foundations will be constructed, weather permitting, at the discretion of the grounds supervisor.
- All foundation construction and fees shall be in accordance with N.J.S.A Title 8A.
- Memorials that do not conform with the memorial application will be removed by the cemetery at the monument dealer’s expense.
